Wondabyne to Gosford - 23km (Hard)

As there are limited get out points and around 700m elevation I have marked this as a hard walk

We'll meet Wondabyne Station at 9:10 am you must be in the last carriage and at the last door of the train to access this station and request the guard to stop at the station .

Wondabyne Station is a great stop there is no road access the only way in is via the train! From the station it is a climb out through some great bush to reach the plateau above Wondabyne.

We then follow the great North walk for about 90 min to Kariong Brook Falls where we will stop for a short 15min break to enjoy the splendor of the falls, just a note there are no shops at this location you must bring your own food and plenty of water.

We then climb out from the falls continue on the great north walk for a couple of hours where we will stop for some lunch at an Aboriginal Art Site. Unfortunately the amenities are limited on this walk so it is essential you bring sufficient food and water for the entire day. There are also limited bathrooms, only bush toilets on this walk.

After our lunch we continue on the local tracks and fire trails till we leave the bush at Point Clare and continue on local roads and pathways to Gosford and the end of our adventure.

We should arrive no later than 4:30 pm.

Pub: possibly Bay Rd Brewing for a tasty beer or other beverage of your choice

The train from Gosford leaves regularly back to Sydney or other destinations .

Distance: - 23 km

Type of Walk: This walk is a full day adventure of, mostay through the Brisbane Water National Park trails and local roads at the end.

Walking Pace: We will maintain a steady pace all day and must average about 4 km per hour to finish on time. I have marked this as hard due to the steep ascents and no exit points.

What to bring: Good walking shoes/boots or trainers; Hat, sunscreen, 1.5 – 2 litres of water, there are no refill available along the way; hydralytes; snacks and one lunch; light rain jacket depending on conditions, torch.
