Feel like a cruise on Brisbane Waters? The ferry leaves Woy Woy wharf at 10.40 and travels to Empire Bay. Just relax on the water and imagine the ferry ride is on a luxury vessel.
Afterwards the lunch venue is the Bayview Tavern at Woy Woy where one can get food and drinks. We should be there by 12 noon. It is a Christmas lunch on the Central Coast.
The journey is the feature of this trip; to catch the train, relax, go through tunnels and travel over the Hawkesbury River Bridge by train.
For those who like coffee, The Gnostic Mana Café is on the corner of 31 The Boulevard & Oval Ave. It is a 2 minute walk to the wharf. Be at the Woy Woy wharf at 10.35 for a 10.40 departure. The ferry returns at Woy Woy at 11.50 am.
Travel Information
Catch the Newcastle 8.45 train from one of the following stations: 8.45 from Central, Strathfield at 9.00, Epping at 9.15 or alternatively from Hornsby at 9.25. You can expect to arrive at Woy Woy at 10 am.
Go to the cafe and grab a coffee then leave at 1030ish for the wharf. We have a booking for 18 ppl on the ferry. It is fully booked on the way to empire bay but we will probably be the only passengers on return.
The Bayview Hotel has a booking for 18 ppl at midday. They have seniors discounted pub classic meals at $20. Pls flag if you’re not joining us at lunch so the booking can be adjusted
