Weekly rehearsal

Weekly rehearsal on Thursdays, at Gospel Oak Methodist Church, Agincourt Road, London NW3 2NT 7.30 - 9.30pm, where we explore new material and practise songs in 4 - 8 part harmony under the direction of our superb Musical Director Ben Cox, and accompanist, Jonathan Taylor. Half term is 19th February, when there will be no rehearsal.

Let us know you are coming via our website contact form - see www.taketwenty.co.uk or by emailing info@taketwenty.co.uk so we can be sure to have copies of music for you so you can join in. If you like what we do, you may apply to join the choir and a membership fee will be applicable. We try to keep the termly fees (which cover the cost of our rehearsal space, accompanist and Musical Director), as low as possible. By building our membership, termly fees can be kept at a reasonable level.

We start off learning a new piece by using music scores, although some of our members don't read music and learn by ear. We find, however, that the more our members use music, the more familiar they become with it. We also use recordings and learning tracks. You will find we are very supportive to newbies. We want you to feel comfortable in our group and enjoy the experience. An informal audition for new members is usually held at the end of a convenient rehearsal when existing members have left so that the Musical Director can hear how you hold a short tune of your choice and where your voice is best placed in the choir, whether as a higher or lower voice.
