About us
Welcome to Tech Connect Donostia, an international group for tech and business enthusiasts in Donostia-San Sebastian!
đ About this group: I am Luis, a local from Tudela (Navarra), working as a software developer at a Madrid ERP company, Factor Libre S.L. The group was founded by Sasha Pometko, a product designer in tech, who now moved to other horizons. Iâve been living in Donostia for more than 20 years. I'm in love with the city, but sometimes I wish I would live in Madrid or SF, lots of tech and entrepreneurship events.
đ§ For whom? The group is open to anyone interested or working in tech/business/entrepreneurship/whatever related, including Product Designers, managers, sales representatives, investors, engineers, developers, product owners, digital nomads, etc.
Structure of the meetup:
The events provide a relaxed and informal environment for participants to connect with like-minded individuals, share ideas, and learn from each other while sipping a drink or a coffee. The formats vary between informal chats, guided conversations, speaker presentations, or a mix of things.
We'd love for you to come with ideas and willingness to facilitate sessions too sometime!
đŁď¸ Which language will we be speaking? English (no need for a perfect level though)

Operationalizing Shared Mental Models

Hi! And welcome to Tech Connect Donostia, we suggest an optional donation to help cover the cost of the Meetup Group. Your support is greatly needed and appreciated!Join us to understand how to keep teams aligned as delivery accelerates.
In this talk, we will explore how software rarely breaks because of a single bad decision. More often, it breaks after shared understanding has been slowly eroding.
As teams grow and change, keeping a clear sense of why something exists, what has changed, and how it fits together becomes harder. People join, requirements evolve, risks surface - and context is easily lost.
At the same time, artificial intelligence is helping teams ship faster than ever before. Code can now move faster than shared understanding. This talk explores lightweight ways to help team understanding keep pace with accelerating delivery, by capturing intent, decisions, and boundaries as a natural part of the work.
The session includes a short demonstration using simple developer tools to make the ideas concrete. Although the examples come from software teams, the focus is on shared understanding across roles and how these ideas translate to fast-changing, multi-disciplinary teams.
About the speaker
Matias Vizcaino is a Tech Lead at Thoughtworks, interested in how teams stay aligned as systems and organizations change. When people join, priorities shift, and new risks emerge, he focuses on how shared understanding is reflected in the code teams build - and how evolving code, in turn, reshapes that understanding.đŁď¸ Language: English (Donât worry, it doesnât have to be perfect!)
