The Amsterdam Culture Group is about getting together and exploring the city's cultural life. This group is for people who want to take advantage of what the city has to offer and meet like-minded people in the process. We visit art collections, concerts, films, theatre, cabaret, and undertake a wide array of other cultural activities. Although there might be occasional exceptions, the primary language is usually English.

Nature Symphony, the new composition by composer, cellist, and singer Chieko Donker Duyvis, is an ode to the Mata Atlântica rainforest. This rainforest, home to Donker Duyvis's family, is one of the most endangered in the world: only 10% remains.
And once a natural area is destroyed, the sounds of that place never return. Every forest has its own symphony, composed of the sounds made by all the animals and insects together. Chieko made field recordings in the Mata Atlântica Forest and incorporated these sounds into contemporary jazz and chamber music. The resulting symphony is not only an artistic work but also invites reflection on how humans interact with nature. At the ARTIS Planetarium, these new compositions will be performed in the Full Dome experience!
Jazz Gems: The Grachtenfestival and the Keep an Eye Foundation are joining forces for a spectacular series of concerts called "Jazz Gems." Four "Gems" will be selected for this series, and these top talents will have complete freedom to create their own programs. Expect new compositions, challenging collaborations, and spectacular locations. Meet the Jazz Gems!
Musicians Chieko Donker Duyvis , vocals & cello Benjamim Taubkin , piano Juliano Abramovay , guitar Angelo Ursini , clarinet & flute Simone Sou , percussion
Tickets are 25 euros and can be ordered here: https://www.grachtenfestival.nl/concert/-jazz-gems--chieko-donker-duyvis-19-08-2025-21-00?source-url=%2Fprogramma-2025%3FOptional: Please join WhatsApp group(new!)
