The Locals Comedy - The Locals Comedy is a company founded in 2022 by comedians, for comedians. Based in Fayetteville North Carolina, The Locals Comedy strives to feature local stand-up comedic talents, both seasoned and up-and-coming. Centered around the idea of community, The Locals Comedy looks to highlight the local businesses and culture. The Locals Comedy will bring the laughs and entertainment to the community, wherever that might be.

Headliner: Amy Shanker got her start in standup in Chicago where she quickly became a regular at Laugh Factory and Zanies. Her biting wit stems from her hatred for children fueled by her former job as a Chicago public high school English teacher. As a Jewish woman, she is considered the least successful person in her family by her family.

Amy is currently based out of NYC and Austin. She’s a regular at New York Comedy Club, Laugh Factory, Creek and the Cave, and Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club.

Feature: Will Spann got his first taste of stand-up as a kid telling jokes to his uncle and friends on his grandma’s porch in Columbia SC. He honed those skills and now has performed in clubs from NYC to Charlotte. Whether it’s improv, stand-up or sketch Will knows how to keep the laughs coming. Today the only thing funnier than watching him get out of bed in the morning, is listening to his take on dating, marriage, race and being a new dad in his 40’s.

“Grá”, is the Irish (Gaeilge) word for love. “Saoirse” (Seer-sha) is Irish for “Freedom”, as well as the name of Paddy's signature red wine produced locally in North Carolina. June's summer-themed stained glass workshop will celebrate love, freedom, and the vibrant energy of the season. During this two-hour hands-on session, we will be focusing on glass selection, layout, hand foiling, and patina application utilizing the copper foil ('Tiffany") technique of stained glass construction. Guests will learn the basics of this timeless art form while crafting a modern geometric diamond suncatcher featuring nested concentric frames and an iridescent center (approx. 4"x6"). You will select your favorite mix of premium glass colors and textures to make it uniquely yours. All materials and tools are provided in this beginner-friendly class—all pieces will be pre-cut and ground for safety. While you create your pieces, you'll be invited to enjoy some tasty Pub Grub samples lovingly prepared by Dave, paired with some refreshing Saoirse Irish Sangria. We offer stained glass classes for beginner, intermediate, and advanced skills with high-quality, U.S. made glass in a variety of colors and options.
