About us
We are a group of friendly, outdoor enthusiasts who love getting out and about exploring the beautiful countryside of Scotland from the borders to the highlands.
We organise walks that suit all different levels of fitness and ability from easy grades to strenuous. Choose a walk that suits your capability. Then have a great time, enjoying some company in a safe and supportive environment.
Can we remind everyone that not turning up for trips that are restricted in numbers, or, not meeting someone that you have arranged to get a lift from is unacceptable. We will take steps to exclude persistent offenders.
If you plan on attending an event you only have to click on the “attending” button, only click on “not attending” if you have changed your mind and can no longer make the event.

Ambleside -Lakes District Walking Weekend Saturday 4 to Sunday 5 July.
Ambleside, Ambleside Road, United Kingdom, GBThis invite is to rsvp so we have correct numbers attending from both groups for walks planned...Please only rsvp if your coming as numbers limited.
Joining up with my English walking group, 40 confirmed- the idea is for both groups to come together for some social fun as well as the choice of 2 walks on the Saturday and 2 walks on the Sunday before heading home in the afternoon.
Walks will be posted separately to rsvp on those confirming rsvp here -
Saturday's walks - Both start at 9.50am Ambleside.
Dave's walk is a A grade, hard walk doing the Horseshoe 10mls
My walk will be offering a medium B/C grade alternative walk up Wansfell Pike/Troutbeck, beer garden pub stop with fantastic scenery all around.
Dave will be doing another A Grade hard walk Sunday and I'll be doing circular easier walk from Langdale to Ambleside on route before heading home. Walkers will need to be physically fit for walks.
Walks will be posted in June to rsvp individually. This rsvp is to confirm numbers so please only rsvp if you're coming - timewasters will be removed or those who cancel last minute, so please consider your plans as this is done by volunteering our time and knowledge to walk you safely.
+1's now have to be members to rsvp as well so they understand and are prepared for walks they attend.
If you bring your dog, they will need to be behaved and on a lead at all times due to lambing season.
You are responsible for booking and paying for your accommodation in or around Ambleside or you could go a bit further out to camp at the Great Langdale Campsite Lake District | National Trust, Its entirely up to you as I don't arrange your accommodation/transport.
Thanks

Pykestone Hill, Middle Hill from Drumelzier-Circular-Medium/Hard 10Mls.
Drumelzier, Biggar, GBThis enjoyable medium/hard hill walk climbs two Donalds arranged around the Drumelzier Burn, Pykestone Hill with both then have flat summits at the tops with impressive outline as well fine views at 696 meters - 2283feet for our lunch break.
Please make sure you can make this walk as numbers limited due to village parking restrictions.
WALK DETAILS
Distance : Around 10miles
Time: Around 6 hours depending on breaks etc
Ascent: Approx 696m - 2283feet
Sorry No Dogs, Vaping or Smoking on route.
+1's now have to be members to rsvp so they understand the walk involved.
If the weather turns bad nearer the time, I will reschedule but here's hoping as its a cracking walk in good weather as the hills should be still purple.
There is off road parking available on B712 as you come into Drumelzier (please be advised parking is limited up the wee lane so might need to park near and walk to meet point off the AB712) Otherwise, you maybe met by a resident who will be out huffing and puffing if you block the wee lane to parking area for 6/8 cars, so it would be appreciated if people consider their parking and car share as much as possible.
We will meet for a prompt 10am start and finish near around 4pm.

Terrain: Good track for the ascent, then narrow paths following fenceposts to Middle Hill. Finally fainter hill paths over Drumelzier Law and on the descent. The cols between the hills are boggy but the rest of the going is good walking boots a must.
Full details and description of walk can be found here:
Pykestone Hill and Drumelzier Law, Drumelzier
As a group walk we will walk as such and adjust speed accordingly but you will need to be an experienced walker up and down hills so reasonable fitness required. This is also not a race but at a nice pace with a social aspect to it.
As always, please ensure you change your RSVP if you can't make a walk, not showing up without giving good notification is not considered acceptable etiquette. If you have a history of non-attendance or cancelling at the last minute, don't bother putting yourself down for this walk. 2 x No Show and will be removed from group.
If lifts are arranged you should inform each other of time and location of pick-up point. Pop offer of lifts on messages as this will alleviate parking due to numbers allowed as I DO NOT organise lifts to and front walk meet point.
Thanks
