What we’re about

Welcome to the Perth Japanese Language and Culture Club!
In addition to our weekly language exchange meetup we hold regular events like karaoke and dinner events.
It's a great environment for people to practice their language skills and exchange their culture. It doesn't matter if you're an absolute beginner or not, all that's important is a desire to learn and to teach.

YOMIKAKI is a casual Japanese-English study group for those who want to improve their reading and writing skills, while also meeting like-minded people in a relaxed café setting.

It is required that you have at least a basic understanding of both Japanese AND english.

Study Focus
🎵Every session, we’ll translate a song together—we will provide both an English and a Japanese song. You can choose either or both!🎶

It’s a chill way to boost your language skills through music, lyrics, and a bit of teamwork.

We’ll also bring a few materials to share if you forget

This is a free event, but as a thank-you to San Churro for letting us use their space, please purchase at least one drink or item during the session.

YOMIKAKIは、日本語と英語を本気で学びたい人のためのカジュアルな勉強会です。
初心者から上級者まで、静かに集中したい方も、交流したい方も大歓迎！
落ち着いたカフェの雰囲気の中で、自分のペースで学べます。

A gold coin ($1 or $2) donation will be required from each attendee to participate in the event. (This money will be used for group facilitation costs in order to keep the meetup events running smoothly and future group events)

Each person will be required to at least order an item

FYI: This is NOT a dating event, we recommend exploring other Meetup groups or apps that cater to that purpose.
This event is as it says; language and culture exchange - it is THE focus of the event. People who are not participating in language and culture exchange will be given a lower priority, and in extreme cases, might get swapped with new members that have not had the privilege of attending the event.

Also, we kindly ask all members to refrain from presenting sales pitches or attempting to establish connections for financial gain within the group. This space is dedicated to networking, cultural exchange, and language sharing, fostering a welcoming and collaborative environment for all participants

Note: Please prepare a $5 contribution fee to the event ( this event is not-for-profit, money that gets collected will be used to provide snacks for attendees )
