Toowoomba Socials

Toowoomba Socials welcomes people who are looking to make new friends and socialise with others in the Toowoomba area.

The group comprises mostly people 55+, but other ages are welcome. We get together frequently to enjoy wining and dining, movies, and other activities. Some of us are still working, and many of us are not. We are a friendly lot who enjoy company and laughter. The group is for social gatherings, and is not a dating group.

The organisers are very approachable and welcome suggestions for events, or if you have ideas for repeat activities, you could become an organiser yourself.

A current and clear photo of you is a requirement for joining. This is for peace of mind so we all may recognise you when you arrive at an event for the first time. You also need to answer two simple questions when you apply to join the group.

As the group is new, there will be no fees until September 2026. Then, the annual membership fee will be approximately $20-30 per person, charged in September each year, or $10-15 if joining in March or later each year. This will be used to offset the subscription fees charged by the Meetup site.

Within the first four months of applying, new members can attend two events before committing to join the group. If you have not attended two events in the first four months, your membership will be cancelled.
