National Bird Day Outing
Details
Yes, there really is a holiday called National Bird Day!
Please join us in celebrating this unique holiday on a group outing to observe wild birds at French Creek State Park. It’s the perfect opportunity to put those new binoculars you got over the holidays to good use! Don’t have a pair? No problem—our leaders will have a few extras available to share.
We will travel a flat route that keeps us primarily on paved trails and limited-use roads as well as some natural surface paths. All ages and abilities are welcome to join us, including those new to birdwatching. (Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult.)
Meet at the playground parking lot behind the park office.

First observed in 2002, National Bird Day provides an opportunity to appreciate the beauty and importance of birds and to raise awareness about avian welfare and conservation issues. It is held this time of the year to coincide with the end of the Christmas Bird Count surveying period.
