Troubles in Pineford

D&D Level 1 - Session Zero

Hard times have befallen the kingdom, a war to the south has seen many young people being drafted into the army. The small town of Pineford is one of many that has seen a decline in travellers and trade. The town's guard has been reduced to a skeleton crew, which is why the cleric of a local temple of Eldath has organised a neighbourhood watch scheme - and you have joined their ranks.

Think about why / how your character has joined this group. Most likely you are local, but maybe you wandered into town and saw the recruitment poster. Either way, you'll have a story of why you've avoided being drafted into the army - maybe you didn't even meet the criteria, maybe you managed to hide away, or maybe you're a deserter.
