Sunday 9am hike Manasquan Reservoir
Details
Manasquan
Let’s do about 5 miles in about 2 hours at Manasquan Reservoir - at a moderate pace, depending on trail conditions. (Forecast suggests remaining snow/ice will be mostly gone in next few days). This park has some of the prettiest water views in our area. Trails range from single track dirt to wide gravel. Plenty of water views, wooded areas, open areas. A great place to view wildlife. The park is mostly flat, with a few areas of moderate grades, just a bit of uneven terrain and tree roots. Hiking boots/shoes are suggested. Poles, traction devices if you think you’ll need them (good idea to have them in car this time of year). Usually, there are walk arounds for muddy areas. Things to bring: Water, bug spray, sun protection, layered clothing.
If you are staying for lunch after, in the visitor center, with fireplace and great water views, please bring what you plan to eat. We will meet in the main (middle) parking area at 411 Windeler Road, Howell - near the Visitor Center and restrooms. Please arrive at least a few to 15 minutes early, to sign-in, gear up, use restroom, meet others, etc. I’ll be next to my White Subaru Crosstrek, with black roof and kayak rack
