Speaker: Dr. Trudy Meehan TedX Speaker, Author, Clinical Psychologist and Lecturer with the Centre for Positive Health Sciences, RCSI
Talk: Why Simulation Isn't Enough
In this talk we explore what it really means to be human and what are the important differences between human based services/interactions and technology mediated AI based interactions. Do you interact in more meaningful ways with your dogs than with your family and friends? Wouldn't I be better off with an AI therapist than waiting two years for a real life one? Isn't an AI companion better than being lonely? And if general intelligence ever happens, what's so bad about being like a cat and letting AI feed us and look after us and do all the hard work?

Speaker: James Livermont Senior Engineering Manager @ Google Cloud
Talk: Queue Theory and Recommendations for Queue-Based Workloads
A fun, not-too-mathy or heavy overview of queue theory and some observations on queue-based architectures. I'll provide some real-world examples and some tips to help folks right-size queues and the workloads they support.
