Ludlow Wines + CCAC - Summerfair Emerging Artists
Details
I just can't handle the cold weather that well, so I sat out January. I'm hoping by the middle of February we will get back up to 30 degrees and we can be cold a little more slowly. I hope everyone is good!
Ludlow Wines (343 Ludlow Avenue, 45220) 7 PM
This is a nice little wine shop in the business district down on Ludlow Ave. in Clifton. Across the street is the Esquire theater, and it is a door or two down from the Gaslight Bar and Grill (an excellent place with a cool rooftop dining area).
Here is Ludlow Wine's deal:
Our popular Wine Tastings are held every Friday - from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. The tastings are informal and do not require reservations. The cost to taste four wines is $12.00 per person.
But there is more:
Clifton Cultural Arts Center (3412 Clifton Ave, 45220 ) 6 PM-8 PM
Summerfair Cincinnati: Emerging Artists
Annually, junior and senior art majors from local universities, representing the next generation of artists to emerge on the local art scene, are nominated by their professors, juried by Summerfair, and are given the opportunity to exhibit their work among their peers.
I've been to this show once or twice in the past. It is a medium size show and there are always some stand out works there. The Clifton Cultural Art Center is an impressive place in itself if you've never been to it. (In the past, they have served Hors d'oeuvre and libations - but I can't promise that for sure.)
My Plan: I personally like art, I know that not everyone gets that engaged looking at it. I will get to the art show around 6-6:30. I would expect to spend around 45 minutes to an hour there. So I will be at the Ludlow Wines somewhere between 7:00 and 7:30 PM.
Parking: There is a public parking lot for the business district, behind the Ludlow Wines (the South side of the street). It is also not difficult to find street parking on the streets a block or two North of Ludlow Ave. It is about a one block walk from the Art Center to the Wine shop. I suggest parking close to Wine Shop rather than the Art Center.
Of course if you don't like poor young college kids making art and supporting their efforts, you can just come to the Wine Shop.
