Let's get in the mood for Valentine's Day.
For our February session, we will explore the pairing of wine with chocolate.
The format will be simple: Just bring a bottle of wine plus something chocolate that that you think will go well together.
When we think of of wine + chocolate, we often think of full-bodied reds and dark chocolate. Other combinations may also be interesting, however. (White wine and white chocolate, perhaps?)
Also, not all chocolate items need to be sweet. Adventuresome attendees are encouraged to explore savory possibilities, such as something with mole sauce, etc.
Our process will be the same as usual: Everyone will take a turn presenting their selection and providing some background infomation about it. (Some research may be required.)
We will all then share, taste and critique each bottle.
I will provide some tasting glasses but if you have some of your own, bring them along.
If you want to bring some other food items to accompany your presentation, they would be welcome also.
I have reserved a large outdoor table for us on the recreation deck of my condo building in Kakaako. (Access details will be sent on the day before the event to those who RSVP.
Because of space restrictions, we can only accommodate about a dozen people for this event.
If you’re certain you will attend, please sign up soon so we can get a count of how many people to expect.
Hope to see you there,
Bob
