Bitcoin in Times of Crisis
Details
This month we’ll be exploring Bitcoin in times of crisis. Rather than looking at Bitcoin purely as an investment or technology, we’ll zoom out and ask a bigger question: what actually happens to money, markets, and personal freedom when the world becomes unstable?
Together we’ll unpack how different crises - wars, economic shocks, pandemics - change the way people access money, goods, and even basic freedoms. We’ll also look at how fiat systems fund large-scale government spending, particularly in times of war, and what that means for citizens over the long term.
From there, we’ll think about Bitcoin more practically. What role could it realistically play if things became uncertain? Is it something we spend day-to-day, or more of a tool for savings, mobility, and choice?
The goal isn’t to arrive at perfect answers, but to think through these questions together and understand how Bitcoin might fit into a world that doesn’t always stay stable.
As always, this group is open to everyone - whether you know only a little or a lot about Bitcoin. For any newbies, you needn't worry, as I always make sure to cover definitions and build conceptual understanding before moving on in the discussion.
This event is open to as many as would like to join so please ignore the limit on RSVP's and just show up if you're interested.
