See all- A Toast to Summer: A RevelEleven Garden Gathering (In-Person Event)West Seattle, Seattle, WA
THIS IS A PAID SEATTLE EVENT, PLEASE REGISTER HERE: A Toast to Summer: A RevelEleven Garden Gathering | Eventbrite Tickets
Join us for an enchanting summer evening in the lush West Seattle garden oasis of Lorene Edwards Forkner’s, weekly gardening columnist for Pacific Magazine in the Seattle Times. A lifelong gardener, writer, and advocate for living in harmony with the seasons, Lorene lives what she calls a “garden-based life” in her charming home near the beach. Her garden is like a living laboratory encouraging us to collaborate with nature, savor seasonal pleasures, and find respite in the rhythms of the earth.
We will also dive into the world of non-alcoholic drinks. An elevated tasting experience curated by The NA Sommelier—a mobile, zero-proof bar offering sophisticated, non-alcoholic drink pairing samples. We’ll enjoy light appetizers and Prosecco.
Lorene is also the author of Color In and Out of the Garden, an exploration of flowers, colors and creativity. Arranged by color, each chapter helps readers sharpen their powers of observation and capture nature’s lovely palette. Both a mindfulness exercise for seeing garden colors and an easy guide to reproducing them on the page, Forkner guides you through the spectrum with her own watercolors while offering inspiration and a delightful garden respite from everyday stress.
Lorene will have her beautiful books and postcards available for purchase—perfect mementos of an evening spent rooted in community, creativity, and connection.
Let’s celebrate summer, nature, and each other. We can’t wait to see you in the garden.
About Lorene: Lorene Edwards Forkner is an author, maker, and speaker whose work centers on exploring the wonders of the natural world. An avid gardener for all her life, in early 2018 she began creating color studies of plants and other artifacts from nature. The practice has become a daily exercise in cultivating attention and mindfulness. Lorene lives in Seattle, Washington, and is the author of Color In and Out of the Garden, from Abrams.

Join us for a heartfelt conversation with Jen Berlingo, midlife coach, licensed counselor, art therapist, and author of the bestselling memoir and guidebook Midlife Emergence: Free Your Inner Fire. In this virtual event, Jen will share how midlife can be a portal to reclaiming the parts of ourselves we’ve long hidden — the powerful, beautiful, unexpressed facets yearning to be seen.Through her own story of transformation and the journeys of the women she has guided, Jen invites us to explore midlife as a time to shed outdated roles, untangle from cultural conditioning, and step shamelessly into full authenticity.
