Women Who Wander, we're heading into the woods — and there's a waterfall at the end. 🌊
This Saturday we're hiking to Bordner's Cabin, one of Central PA's most magical hidden gems. Known as "Lebanon County's Fallingwater," this hand-built log cabin was constructed in 1937 by a local high school teacher and his students using oak trees and stones pulled right from the surrounding hillside. The cantilevered porch extends out over Aycrigg's Falls — equal parts architecture and art, completely in the middle of the woods.
The hike itself is 3 miles out-and-back on a wide, flat, well-shaded trail — easy enough to hold a full conversation the whole way. We'll meet at the Sand Siding Trailhead, cross the beautiful four-span bridge over Swatara Creek, and follow the Bear Hole Trail to the cabin and falls.
Plan on about 1.5 hours of hiking, plus time to hang at the cabin.
🥾 3.1 miles out-and-back | Easy | 160 ft elevation gain
