What we’re about
**Women of Culture **is a NYC-based community designed to connect and inspire women via meaningful engagement with the arts and creative self-expression. Through carefully curated cultural experiences, trips and workshops, we encourage women to push their boundaries, discover new perspectives and connect more deeply with themselves and those around them.
We believe that, when women come together and collectively tap into their innate creativity, confidence, and one-ness, they have the power to heal the world — from the inside, out.

On the occasion of Bushwick Open Studios, join us to step into the immersive, handmade wonderland that is the studio workshop of of multi-media artist Laurie Shapiro for the unique opportunity to learn (or practice) a new skill while also being immersed in the art & soul of an up-and-coming contemporary artist!
Advance Purchase Required here
On Sunday, September 28th, Laurie will lead you through a private embroidery workshop, teaching basic techniques and guiding you in creating a one-of-a-kind piece to take home. All materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own items (such as a jacket, shirt, or fabric) and any sketches or printouts to inspire their designs.
More than just a workshop, this is also a chance to experience the “kaleidoscopic and jewel-like…deeply embodied, and quietly psychedelic (in a meditative sense)” environments which Laurie creates through a combination of painting, screen-printing, sewing, and sculpture.
Before the class, we’ll start the afternoon with a convivial member brunch at Sea Wolf, a neighbourhood favorite known for its fresh seafood, hearty vegetarian fare, and laid-back vibe — the perfect setting to fuel up and connect with fellow culture lovers before the afternoon unfolds.
After the workshop, the experience continues with the option to explore the neighborhoods further — visiting other open studios and discovering Bushwick’s iconic street art, adding even more inspiration to an already creative day.

- Network event3 attendees from 3 groups hostingArt-full Member Monday SessionsLink visible for attendees
Inspired by our Sisterhood of Discovery series, these casual and intimate bi-weekly calls are designed as a way for Art-full members (and first-time non-member visitors) to start the week with intention and connection.
Each session includes:
- a short grounding meditation
- the chance for all attendees to check in with their sisters on anything that has come up since the last week
- the opportunity to discuss a pre-selected prompt
Each call is an invitation to deepen your connection with yourself and fellow members by showing up for one another consistently.
Participants are encouraged to submit ideas for discussion prompts and many of the prompts will be determined by issues raised in the previous week's call which are relevant to all attendees.
Conversation will be lightly guided in order to ensure all in attendance feel seen, heard and validated in the service of building one another up through authentic support.
You are invited to show up as your full self, as you are - learning, growing and discovering more about yourself and one another along the way.
Please be sure to call from a quiet location where you feel comfortable participating as though we were meeting in person.
All sessions are free for Art-full members, and non-members are invited to attend one trial session before joining one of our three membership tiers.
