[Virtual WordPress] The Future of Publishing: WordPress in 2025

Turn on your microphone, pick out an avatar, and join us for the first ever global WordPress meetup in a 3D virtual world! Whether you've got a phone, laptop, or fancy-pants gaming rig, you can be part of the conversation.

We'll spend a few moments becoming familiar with the new platform and its features, before moving on to our main topic: What might WordPress look like 5 years from now? Finally, there will be pizza. Virtual pizza. (Vegan friendly.)

The main talk will be presented by the prestigious Jonathan Wold, Community Manager at WooCommerce. He's been speaking and writing about WordPress as an "Operating System for the Open Web", which is a fantastic springboard into discussions about the future of our favourite CMS.

Note: If you'd like to familiarise yourself with the platform prior to the event, head on over to https://hubs.mozilla.com/. We'll be using a self-hosted instance of Hubs (which is an open source platform) via https://wp.broken.place/.

This is a global event, open to all (not just WordPress Brisbane members). The presentations will be in English.
