A lot of us at Writers Bloc are emerging writers. So, we thought, what better way to learn about what's working in publishing than by reading work from first time novelists and early career writers that are kicking goals.
To start off the monthly meetings of the Bright Young Things bookclub, we will be reading The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey. While he's not exactly starting out as a writer (wonderful career working for DC and Marvel), this is his first novel and is getting some great reviews.
We will take suggestions for the next book on the night and want to make this a regular thing. It will be held at the large table in the bar of the Palace Verona cinema. They have lovely cakes, sandwiches as well as a fairly decent bar.
