Series Book Club: The Fifth Season by N. K. Jemisin

This is a second monthly book club event dedicated specifically to reading series starting with the first book in The Broken Earth trilogy by N. K. Jemisin. We will be reading one book per month and have a separate event for every book in the series.

Set in a world wracked by constant geological catastrophe, The Fifth Season follows several interconnected characters struggling to survive as society teeters on the edge of collapse. Certain people possess the power to control the earth itself, a gift that makes them both invaluable and deeply feared. As disaster unfolds, the novel explores oppression, resilience, and the cost of survival in a world that is literally breaking apart.
