We are going to meet for a couple of hours to sit down and do some writing! These are initial trial sessions, so any feedback or suggestions afterwards would be welcome.We’ll be meeting at the Hooting Owl Distillery lounge bar (on Rougier Street), where we have the upstairs table reserved. Lots of us are interested in songwriting but struggle to make time to write the lyrics. This meet-up is intended to help us make some time, have some fun and get a little closer to our songwriting ambitions.This isn’t a formal workshop or a critique group. It’s a casual meet-up to have a nice time and beat our procrastination. Nobody will be expected to share anything they’ve written if they don’t want to!
We will do some easy free-writing exercises designed by Pat Pattison, and we might try something more complex if we’re feeling up to it.

Each month we choose a random 'theme' for a playlist. Anyone who wants to can suggest a song of that theme to be added. We'll have it playing at the social and send out the track list, so everyone can listen/enjoy/discuss the songs. Anyone is of course welcome to join, regardless of if they've contributed to that month's playlist.More details coming soon, just getting the social in the calendar for now! Watch this space...
