In Localisation, probably more than any other industry, collaboration and team work are key. When you work on the buyer side and rely on your external partner for your translation needs, the saying "You are only as good as your team" rings true.
The translation quality of your content and subsequently, the success of your company depend on the performance of your translation partner. In this session we will look at the importance of providing continuous vendor training and support, establishing a process of linguistic review and performance feedback and closing the communication loop between clients and external translators.

Jen Conroy - Vistaprint
Jen comes from a varied background including event management, freelance editing and localisation project management. She currently works within the in-house localisation team at Vistaprint. One of the major parts of her role there is vendor management, looking after, coordinating and training a database of around 50 freelance translators.
In her talk, she will focus on the aspect of community management and its importance in maintaining good working relationships with outsourced translators
Selina Rojas Llaquet - Localisation specialist
Selina has an extensive background in language starting by her studies. She received a Bachelor’s degree in French from La Sorbonne in Paris and a MSc in Translation with Translation Technology from Imperial College in London. She has over 10 years international experience working in the Translation and Localisation industry. She has worked in London, Barcelona and NY holding different roles from in-house translator to Localisation Project Manager to Language Specialist / QA. This experience gives her a deep knowledge of the industry needs from different angles.
She will share her experience and thoughts on building a collaborative approach to keep the feedback loop with translators.
Miguel Sepulveda - King
With his background in computer engineering, quality assurance, human resources and project management, Miguel has been working in the localisation industry since 1995, when he joined Lionbridge Technologies as a Software Tester. After working on the language vendor side for a number of years, Miguel joined King in 2014 as a Global Localisation Manager. In his current role, he drives a team of localisation professionals, who translate and culturally adapt digital games in up to 24 different languages for players on every continent.
He will walk us through some challenges and learnings from a recent vendor onboarding work his team did, including training vendors in new games and dealing with LQA changes, review, and feedback.
