As last event of the year we bring Diego Fernando Molina to present his experience in Zalenium.
One of the most common problems to execute Selenium tests is having suitable and working setup. To have a working Selenium Grid means to have all necessary elements (Selenium jar, drivers, browsers) well configured and with the correct versions. Zalenium is an open source tool that solves this problem and allows us to focus in writing good tests and add value to our teams. Zalenium is a docker-based tool, which can give you a working grid in less than 30 seconds, with features like video recording and a dashboard where you can check all the test results. In this talk we will see: why we created Zalenium, how it works, how to use it, and different scenarios where you can use it at work.
Diego is a Software Engineer in Test at Zalando (https://zalando.de (https://zalando.de/)), specialised in testing tool development and advising feature teams how to test better. He is one of the maintainers of the official docker-selenium project ( https://github.com/SeleniumHQ/docker-selenium ), and he is the co-creator of Zalenium ( https://github.com/zalando/zalenium ), a dynamic Selenium Grid. He spends most of his time working with different teams and finding ways to do UI testing in a more simple way. You can find him often in the IRC/Slack channel for Selenium.
