Nearby, is the beautiful Rainbow Springs State Park
where we will start our tubing early on Saturday morning.
This is a great location for canoeing, kayaking, etc.,
BYOB or anything else you might like to have or share!

then depart (about 6:15 am) for the centerpiece activity of the weekend;
the float down the Rainbow River.
The crystallineRainBowRiver flows six miles
through shaded hammocks and wetlands before it joins the Santa Fe River.
In 1972, the head spring of the river was declared
a National Natural Landmark by the U. S. Department of the Interior.
From the end of May until early September,
tubing down the river is the premier activity in the area.
In addition to tubing, visitors can enjoy picnicking, snorkeling,
canoeing, swimming, hiking, and wildlife viewing.
White-tailed deer, raccoons, wild turkeys, wood ducks
and great blue herons can be seen from the river.
Bring snorkeling gear, and jump off your tube
at any time to explore the springs along the way.
The entire float takes about 4 hours.
We should finish our tubing between 2-3pm.
What to bring: Clothing, toiletries, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, bathing suit, etc. Optional gear includes snorkeling gear, waterproof camera. To keep the river pristine, no food, drink, tobacco or disposable items may be taken on the river.

Snorkeling in Key Largo

**[)Please join us for our action packed adventure on Saturday June 13th 12:15 pm We are going to 2 different snorkel locations What a great day snorkeling its going to be.**[)
We will be snorkeling
in the Key Largo National Marine Sanctuary,
on the coral reefs of John Pennekamp State Park.
These waters are the home
of some of the most beautiful diving spots
in the United States.
It's the home of America's first undersea park
and only living coral reef.
and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary
have been protected for over 40 years
making it an ideal destination for viewing Tropical reef fish
close up in their own environment.
This is like swimming in an aquarium.
Snorkeling gear will be provided
if you don't have your own gear.
Basic instruction and fish identification lectures
will be provided by the vendor.
Expect maximum depths on the reefs of 10' to 20',
and the tops of the coral heads
will likely extend out of the water on low tide.
You should anticipate awesome visibility this time of year
and the seas should be calm.
We do at least one snorkeling charter every year
and expect this trip to be full!
After the dive,
The boat will depart about 12:45 pm
and we can expect to return approximately 4:30 p.m.
Please make sure to be on time boat will not wait
so this way we can get all the paperwork out of the way
and be ready to get onboard.
Directions: Take I-95(S) to 836 West (exit #6) to the Florida Turnpike. Continue south to the end at Florida City OR take the Florida Turnpike as far South as it will go, and merge to US 1 in Florida City. Follow US 1 South and watch for mile marker signs (on the sides of the Road). Continue to MM 100 behind the Holiday inn Park between the holiday in and the Marina Del mar
Things you should bring are: Bathing suit, sunscreen, snacks, lunch, waterproof camera, water, a change of clothes. Snorkeling gear is included but you may wish to bring your own.
