As Pittsburgh’s first Makerspace, also known as a HackerSpace. HackPGH birthed the maker movement as we know it in Pittsburgh and has been involved in Pittsburgh and beyond for nearly a decade.

We have been a self sustained Non-Profit since the beginning. Our focus is on collaboration, education, inclusion and community.

We are all equal here at HackPGH and we want to see everyone come together to make something better.

Membership Model:
- $50/mo Membership
- 24/7 Access
- Teach a class, get a free month membership.
- Volunteer one shop clean a quarter.
- +18 but our classes are open to most ages.
- A place for prototyping and small batch manufacturing (etsy, etc)

HackPGH is all about community. We want to see more people come in, collaborate, and learn from each other as well as have access to awesome tools! We have GEDs teaching PHDs and vise versa here. We are the makers making waves in the community.

Coding Developer Bootcamp Infosession with Work Hard PGH and Academy PGH

Interested in coding, but not sure how to get started? Academy PGH instructors and grads will be on hand to share their experiences and answer questions about the growing technology industry in the Pittsburgh region. What is Academy PGH? We host 12 week sessions to train individuals to work at in demand jobs. Half of our seats are reserved for people that are underrepresented in their industries. $55,000 is the average starting salary for a jr. web developer entering the workforce from our program. Our extended network includes over 100 graduates working for various organizations in the Pittsburgh region. Do you have what it takes to learn from the best wandmaker in town? Have you ever dreamed of having your own wand, just like Harry? Or maybe you dreamed of being like Ollivander and crafting them yourself... Class description: Come down to HackPGH and learn how to safely run a wood lathe, turn soft and hard woods! Class length: Two hours. Instructor: Chris Knipple Cost: $50 per person ($45 for Hack members) and you leave with a real wooden wand, just in time for Halloween! Class limit: This is a two hour class for two people. We currently have two sessions scheduled. If they fill up, we will try to add more sessions before Halloween!
