At a recent meetup a fellow hungry mind said that, during a mental health leave from work, she had been told by her doctor to have fun. She said she went back a few weeks later and had to confess that she didn't know how to do that. That really got me thinking - do I??? Then it got me to really thinking - what is fun? How do we have fun? And why might we, like this fellow hungry mind, not be able to figure out how to take on a prescription for fun if it was handed to us?
Since that discussion, I've read Catherine Price's book The Power of Fun and will be pulling some of the questions to ask yourself and lists of possible fun things from there. I've got both the ebook and audiobook and can share, if anyone is interested in checking it out. Just message me or drop a note in the comments. Please post any resources you would suggest we check out in the comment section here. Also - feel free to bring some fun things to do while we are meeting - not going to define what that might be because I'm curious what might show up.
