Join us on Tuesday, 31st October (food/drinks from 6pm and the Meetup begins at 7pm) at the Excel Centre Docklands (where Microsoft FUTURE DECODED Conference is being held) in London to meet Julia White, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft focusing on Azure.

Julia worked with commercial software and cloud services long before it was regarded as ‘cool’ and she now focuses on the Microsoft Cloud with special attention on Azure and making sure the cloud is a place all organizations can trust to run their business.
Julia is a 13-year veteran of the company, she embraces change and fights to move both technology and business to its future state. She’s never been afraid to challenge the conventional thinking and stand out from the crowd! Julia will share her experience of working for a company like Microsoft.

The Future Decoded event runs all day and our evening meetup starts at 7pm (with food /drinks from around 6:00pm). There will be food and drinks served from 6pm upstairs in the Capital Suites, please join us before 7pm. YOU WILL HAVE TO REGISTER FOR FUTURE DECODED VIA THE LINK BELOW IN ORDER TO GET ACCESS TO THE VENUE. Please allow time to navigate the ExCel, it is a large building.

Becky Jones, Founder of Bektio |

Becky is a developer and specialist in emerging technologies. Her company builds mixed reality prototypes and solutions for clients using Microsoft HoloLens, with a keen focus on elucidating best practices for user experience in this new paradigm. Becky also organises the meetup group Mixed Reality London.
Before founding Bektio she was Head of Making at the Future Cities Catapult and worked on London 2036 installation (featured in the Big Bang Data exhibition at Somerset House), New User Experiences for Cycling, CITIE, Organicity, and Whereabouts London. Prior to that she was Lead Producer in the mobile games industry – working on hit titles including Angry Birds and Moshi Monsters: Moshlings. She also produced IPTV prototypes for clients including the BBC.
Her passion for science and technology led her to completing degrees in Computer Science, Bioinformatics & Systems Biology, and Biochemistry - all from Imperial College London. Unsurprisingly, as a child her favourite TV show was Tomorrow’s World.
Laura da Silva, Tech Principal Data Scientist, Elastacloud

Laura is the Tech Principal Data Scientist at Elastacloud Ltd. She has had a distinguished academic career with a degree in Mathematics and a PhD in High Performance Computing at the University of Almeria. She has managed several data scientists following the CRISP-DM cycle and Agile methodologies in order to track and deliver Data Science solutions and analyse improvements in the process.
Laura is the co-organiser of “Inspiring Women in Data Science”, a community group to motivate other women to up-skill themselves and jump into the Data Science world. She is interested in the application of Time Series Analysis, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning and Geospatial Analysis to solve real life problems where Data Science can make a difference, but also in new techniques of Data Science team building and collaboration.
Tempest van Schaik – Senior Software Engineer, Microsoft UK

Tempest is an engineer and scientist with a background in Information Engineering (computer science + electronics engineering) and Biomedical Engineering (the application of engineering to health and medicine). She has experience in end-to-end development of tech to improve health, from basic and applied scientific research, to end-user experience and product design.
In addition, Tempest has worked with mobile health diagnostics, from the low-tech (disposable tests) to the hi-tech (machine learning and wearables) and joined Microsoft UK in October 2017 as a Senior Software Engineer.
Nina Jones, Director, Customer and Partner Experience, Microsoft UK

Nina has had over 20 years’ experience in sales and marketing roles, with over 10 of those focusing on promoting the relevance of customer advocacy within the context of sustainable organisational success. Nina’s main passion within customer experience is how to make customer’s lives simpler and enjoyable by making organisations easy to do business with. By using this desired end goal to generate sustained energy and passion, Nina has led the implementation of many customer experience programmes in many organisations and crucially made them successful by embedding them into the daily operational business.
