An overview of the letter:
The Gospel of Mark focuses attention on the last week of Jesus’ life and his death in Jerusalem. Frequent appearances of the adverb immediately in this Gospel express the urgency of Jesus’ journey to the cross. This journey begins at the inauguration of Jesus’ ministry, commencing right away with his baptism and testing in the wilderness. As Jesus repeatedly announces his coming suffering, death, and resurrection, the Gospel of Mark draws its readers into the unfolding drama of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

The aim of our study:
Mark wants readers to feel the necessity and, thus, the urgency of Jesus' sacrificial crucifixion. In this study, we will aim to better understand why this is, what it looks like to have faith in what Mark has written about Jesus, and how to manifest this conviction in our lives.

Who do I worship? Whose side am I on? Am I willing to give it all up to follow the Lamb?

The book of Revelation follows John as he enters the spirit, seeing heavenly and earthly realities from heaven’s perspective. (Rev. 1:1-2)

After receiving letters from the Son of Man (Rev. 1-3), John ascends to heaven to witness God’s throne room, where God and Christ initiate the judgment of evil (Rev. 4-20). The vision concludes with the corruption of the world being judged and all things being made new (Rev. 21-22). However, the agents who follow the Lamb and worship God alone remain unknown.

The book incites anxiety, questioning our worship, allegiance, and willingness to sacrifice for the Lamb. While uncomfortable, it is essential reading that comes with a blessing for all who do. (Rev. 1:3)
