Ever wondered what makes something ‘scientific’?

Join us on Wednesday 7th September for a jam-packed event where we’ll design, build and race miniature electromagnetic train sets to demonstrate and explore the key ideas behind ‘scientific’ thinking.

Learn through doing with our hands-on approach to the process of scientific enquiry and what factors are used to understand whether information is scientific or not, whilst also thinking about the interactions of electricity and magnets. And playing with your own handmade toy train sets.

Who are we? We're a friendly bunch of adults who are curious about the weird and wonderful science of things we see every day. In each session we set a theme, and then explore a couple of different hands-on activities and games together to learn about what?, how? and why? things work the way that they do.

We come from all educational and professsional backgrounds, and you don't need any previous science experience to come along, play, and meet some new people.

I'm a board-game loving science geek (and freelance project manager in healthcare communications) from London. I started the Barcelona Fun Science Meetup to create a community of curious adults like me, who love to meet new people and learn more about how and why the world around them works in an informal, social, and fun environment.
