Dawn Chorus Walk: International Dawn Chorus Day 🐦

Wake up with the birds this Sunday. We're heading into the hills above Barcelona for one of the most quietly magical mornings of the year — International Dawn Chorus Day.

If you think Barcelona doesn't have birds, this morning will change your mind. We'll walk slowly from Vallcarca up through Jardins de Manuel Blancafort, across to Jardins de Mercè Rodoreda, and end at Parc del Turó del Putxet — stopping whenever we hear something worth pausing for. A lot of listening. A lot of stillness. Real birding, led by our ears.

🥾 What to bring

• Comfortable walking shoes
• Water and a light snack - we can grab coffee after!
• Binoculars if you have them
• Old earphones or headphones with a standard jack (or borrow a pair on the day)
• Download Merlin Bird ID on your phone — we'll be using it a lot
• Layers — early May mornings in the hills can be cool

No birding experience needed. All levels welcome. We walk at a relaxed pace with plenty of stops. You can leave whenever you want. I'll be learning and listening right alongside you.
