Join us at The Meteor on South Congress each and every Tuesday morning from 8-9:30AM (some people usually stay longer - 10 or later) for coffee, breakfast tacos, and Bitcoin conversation.

We sit to the right after you enter the front door. There are 2 long tables, we will be at the 2nd one (pretty much directly right of the cash register/place you order). Easy to find.

A Socratic discussion on technical developments in Bitcoin.

Austin Bitdevs is inspired by the original BitDevs NYC and similar meetups to help grow a community in the Austin area of those interested in discussing and participating in the research and development of Bitcoin and related protocols (i.e. Lightning, Fedimint, Stratum, etc.) and software. We focus on in-depth, Socratic discussions on technical developments within the ecosystem. You can be well-versed with or new to the topics; all are welcome. Be advised: discussion will be technical.

When you arrive:

• Someone will be at the main door to greet you and let you in. The elevator will already be unlocked and waiting for you.
• Once inside, just press 2 and it will take you straight up to the second floor.

Just in case something doesn’t work as planned:

• You can also walk through the Capital One Café (it’s open to the public) and take the elevator from there, or shoot a quick message on Signal to Jack (@jackless.09) and he’ll come right down to get you.

Food will be catered to the Commons (first come first serve)!

6:30 - 7:15p: Arrival & Networking

7:15 - 8:45p: Socratic Seminar focused on various technical Bitcoin topics

8:45 - 9:30p: We'll leave time after the discussion for everyone to network, converse, debate, battle to the death, etc.

9:30p: We usually head to Shiners or a nearby bar to continue the festivities

If this is your first time at one of our meetups, welcome to the bitcoin capital of the world. We have a few guidelines to keep the event running smoothly:

• our meetups focus solely on Bitcoin. We do not welcome discussions about Web3 or any other "crypto" projects at our events. If you are interested in crypto discussions there are a number of other meetups to join.
• please no photos. We respect the privacy of our community.
• please give your attention to the presenters during the seminar and keep side conversations to zero. We are in a pre-QE building, which means we are surrounded by concrete and little insulation; even a whisper can become a distraction to other guests and those presenting. There will be time to converse and network before and after the seminar.
• please pick up after yourself. While we enjoy offering free beverages and snacks to our guests, we do not have a cleaning staff to clean up empty cans, bottles, plates, snacks, etc. Please help us keep the Commons clean by disposing of trash in one of the trash bins.
• parking: Street parking or the paid garage across from our building on East 6th (515 Congress)

If this is your first time at one of our meetups, we have a few simple guidelines to enhance everyone’s experience:

• our meetups and events have a simple and singular focus: Bitcoin. All of our topics and discussions will be centered around Bitcoin, the global monetary network, and bitcoin, the reserve asset. If you are interested in crypto tokens, stocks, blockchains, altcoins, alternative investing, NFTs, etc. that is completely fine. There are a number of other meetups to join. This meetup however is just focused on Bitcoin
• please no photos unless no one is identifiable in the background. We respect everyone’s privacy and want everyone to feel comfortable as they participate
• while the group discussion is going, please keep side conversations to none. With the acoustics of the room and the number of people we expect, any conversations will echo and be a distraction for those who are trying to listen many of whom have traveled a long way to participate
• please pick up after yourself
