De qué se trata
Purpose*:* to encourage one another's interests in the visual and performing arts, including creative writing in English as well as English language literature and cinema, theatre, exhibitions and such. We share our writings and readings and exchange ideas in a relaxed environment. This leads to stimulating conversation centered around our shared experiences.
Venue: we meet in the reading room next to the cafeteria on the 1st Floor of the Soho Boutique Hotel Santander / Real Club de Regatas, Plaza de Pombo 1A, 39004 Santander (tel. 842 840 804). Who should join the group*:* Anyone comfortable speaking in English and interested in the Arts including creative writing (fiction, memoirs, journalism, poetry, historical), literature and cinema. We share our experiences, writing advice, and authors that we admire. If you have already put pen to paper, or have an urge to do so and have ideas or writings that you would like to explore or share, then we are here to welcome you. Finally, if you are already a published author and would like to share your experiences with us, then please come along!!!
What we will do at each get-together:
- Each of us says something about ourselves, our background and our interests, whether we are writers or enjoy the experience of writing or would like to find a welcoming environment in which to share ideas for writing subjects.
- From time to time we offer suggested themes to encourage those of us who would like to try our hand at writing, offer a welcoming forum in which to share our efforts, and a web site where we can post our writings.
- You will join us in sharing in general discussions centered around the Seven Arts [Music, Sculpture, Painting, Literature, Architecture, Performing, Film].
- You can discuss / share your ongoing or past writing and writing challenges.
- We discuss general ideas on creative writing techniques, recommend books on creative writing, how to get published, etc.
- We engage in general group discussions and get to know one another.
- We also have a WhatsApp group site that anyone who has attended our meetings is free to join, where we share information and exchange ideas.
