Do you truly observe and appreciate the city you call home? We walk past the same places and often don’t pay attention to details. We are used to the same sounds, sights and streets. However, Valencia and its neighbourhoods offer loads to those who want to see the city with fresh eyes and truly appreciate its vibrant life and hidden stories.
We are often too busy to stop and notice, and that’s exactly what we are going to do in this workshop. Where? In the neighbourhood of Patraix, which used to be an independent town until the XIX century. We will visit its market, walk down its Saturday mercadillo (street market), the park Padre Jofré (which used to be a convent and a psychiatric hospital), the street Salabert and its beautiful houses, and, of course, la Plaza de Patraix, where our journaling exploration will take place.
In the Plaza we will take our time to open our eyes and observe the many things around us at an unhurried pace: the terrazas, the church, the houses, people walking by. And we’ll really have to pay attention, because we will all have a list of things and people we need to identify, such as:

(Find someone who looks happy)Do you know the French term flâneur, or idle wanderer? That’s what we will be: flâneurs wandering the streets with no other purpose than bearing witness of life unfolding before us!
And after our flâneur experience, we will go to LA CASA de Patraix, a cafe with a beautiful patio, where we will share our findings -in Spanish!- with a drink and a pincho de tortilla.

You need at least a beginner level (A1). All of the explanations and activities will be in Spanish, but I’m very happy to translate into English if necessary. In any case, don’t stress out, this is not a test, we are here to enjoy our time together!PRICE:

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY:
If you decide to cancel your spot 14 days before July 5th, you will receive a 100% refund.
If you cancel your spot between 13 and 7 days before July 5th, you will receive a 50% refund.
If you cancel your spot 6 days before July 5th there will be no refund.
