Throughout my sort-of long life, I have experienced the struggles of addiction to heroin, alcohol, sex, cigarettes, drama, cheese, screens, caffeine, sugar, control, weed, even AI… the list goes on. The vicious cycle of addiction is no stranger to our family, to our society, to the human experience.
And I am a survivor…for now.

All I can say is praise be to the sublime nature of the arts, the refreshing inspiration of nature, and the patient compassion of loved ones. Through the ecstasy of dance, the discipline of martial arts, the company of good music, the quiet wisdom of those with whom I share love, the all-embracing field of meditation, the walks within the primordial wilderness, I have found some magical wholeness.

Could it be that, as Alan Watts suggests, addiction hides a sacred message?
Gabrielle Roth thought so and believed that addiction is actually a spiritual craving - a desire for ecstasy, connection, or divine communion - that we try to satisfy with the wrong things because we have forgotten how to access those states through our bodies.

I propose a 3-hour workshop to begin the exploration of that journey.
We will be using…the 5Rhythms, life-mapping, meditation, and lot of care to bring us through the peaks, sinkholes, plains and valleys of this challenging exploration.
