Can Tonal is part of a broader pioneer project to rebuild the commons in the rural areas near Barcelona. The Vallbona Suport Mutu community has +20 active members and enjoys services such as car sharing, parenting group with a school in the forest, veggie garden, collective pantry, artisan bread and cheese, and craft beer. Can Tonal, which is part of the community, is a about the collective purchase of an old, crumbling, stonewall farm and restoring it into a social center. The aim is to promote a community in the area that shares resources and a gift economy where members help each other (rather than trading). Also to use shared resources to empower the members of the community so that they can effect a social and ecological change in the area.

On the collective work day we will do construction and farming work in the morning and then have a delicious lunch. There is always work to do that doesn't require particular skills or much physical strength like painting, removing grass, or helping at the kitchen. You can check the pictures in previous meetups of this same group :)

Afternoon: Talk by a reporter from Guinea. Night: concert trance/folk. Participants are welcome to bring sleeping bags and mats to stay overnight, and also camping tents if they wish, there is a shelter where to sleep as well.

We can get there with train and then bike, or walk or hitch-hike to the farm. If you are coming by car please mention it on the event discussion area.

For the train trip the meeting point is at Passeig de Gràcia train station. We'll meet inside the station, next to the ticket machines in front of the ticket booth. We'll meet at 8:45 and take the train at 9:05. There is only one train per hour though, so please be on time. It's better to arrive early at the farm, when the different tasks are explained and working groups are formed to better enjoy the morning.

Can Tonal és part d'un projecte pioner més ampli de reconstruir el comunal en les arees rurals al voltant de Barcelona. La comunitat Vallbona Suport Mutu té +20 membres actius i gaudeix de serveis com cotxes compartits, grup de criança amb una ecoleta al bosc, hort, rebost col·lectiu, pa, formatge i cerveses artesanals. Can Tonal de Vallbona, que forma part de la comunitat, és un projecte de compra col·lectiva d'una antiga masia, ara en ruines, i la seva restauració com a centre social. L'objectiu és promoure una una comunitat a la regió que comparteixi recursos i una economia del regal on els participants es donen suport mutu (enlloc d'intercanviar). També emprar els recursos compartits per empoderar els membres de la comunitat per tal que puguin incidir en un canvi social i ecològic a l`àrea.

En aquesta jornada de treball col·lectiu durant el matí farem feines de contrucció i a l'hort, i després menjarem un dinar deliciós. Sempre hi ha taques que no requereixen coneixements especialitzats ni força física, com treure herbes , pintar, o ajudar a la cuina. Pots mirar fotos d'edicions anteriors d'aquest mateix grup per fer-te'n una idea :)

Per arribar-hi hi anirem amb tren, i després bicicleta, autostop, o a peu. Si vens amb cotxe anunicia-ho al xat d'aquest esdeveniment, i comenta si tens places lliures. Per anar-hi en tren ens trobem a l'estació de Passeig de Gràcia, al costat de les màquines de bitllets que hi ha en front de les guixetes. Ens trobarem a les 8:45 i agafarem el tren de les 9:05. Passen cada hora, per tant cal ser puntuals. És millor arribar d'hora a la masia, quan s'expliquen les diferents tasques i es formen els grups de treball.
