A GLIMPSE INSIDE OUR DATA PLATFORM TEAM

For our next talk, we will have two excellent speakers discussing and explaining two different Data Platform topics.

Petra Hudakova, Project Manager in the Data Platform Team at Docplanner Tech comes from a non-IT background (PR, Marketing, Events, running her own business in the past). Petra landed in the Data Platform team in Docplanner as a new Project Manager less than a year ago driven by her curiosity about the tech industry and desire to acquire deeper technical skills. Slovak-born, her passion for Spanish gastronomy and wine led her to run food tours and wine experiences in Granada. Cooking, hosting family & friends, playing basketball, and surfing are currently her favorite hobbies.

The role of Project Manager in a Data Platform Team.
Petra will present the first half of the meetup and share who's behind the Data Platform team in Docplanner and the team´s evolution from the beginning to now. She will explain the needs of the team in this newly created role and bring a fresh point of view on the lessons learned over the first 10 months of her journey. She made a lot of discoveries when working in a new growing team and working environment. She will conclude her part by putting her two cents on what kind of Project Management she brings to the team.

Jorgos Anyfantis, a Data Warehouse Engineer at Docplanner Tech has experience in a plethora of different Data & Analytics roles across telco, banking, and videogame QA industries. He joined Docplanner Tech almost a year ago, a decision driven by the Data Platform team’s diversity and mission as well as the company’s general mission of making the healthcare experience more human. Originally coming from Greece, outside of work Jorgos loves a good read about modern history or watching games of his favorite basketball team, Panathinaikos.

How Data Platform enables analytics at Docplanner Tech.
Gone are the days when the Data Teams were serving a small number of stakeholders. Their formulated questions were simple and thus integrations and modeling of the Data Warehouse were simple and easy. In modern environments, Data Platform teams need to serve tens if not hundreds of DWH users, who in turn answer to the business needs in ad-hoc analysis or in the format of BI Tools dashboards. But how does a team cope with the ever-increasing number of direct users and the complexity of data required? During the talk, Jorgos will focus on Docplanner’s Data Platform Team’s answer to this question. He will present the data flow as well as the tools we use to achieve the above.
