A social Choir for All
For the past 2 years, Andrea Kirwin has been co-facilitating a wonderful social singing group, The Peace Run Rainbow Choir, with her good friend and musician Angela Newcomb and it's been a whole lot of fun! The Choir was inspired by attending a Brisbane Pride Choir event in 2024 and has become our favourite event of the week. Each Tuesday during school terms from 6.30pm - 7.45pm, about 15 -20 of us meet at The Presynct, a Live music venue on Ann St in Nambour and learn songs by Queer artists such as Sam Smith, LP, Elton John, George Michael, Madonna and songs about Love, inclusivity and just straight up club bangers. We have learnt songs by Cher, Whitney Houston but our favourite song has been Chappell Roan's 'Pink Pony Club'. The Choir is for all ages and each term finishes with an onstage performance at the Presynct where we invite our family and friends to join us in singing the songs we've learnt throughout the term. Rehearsals have 3 different rates; Casual $25 / session or 5 rehearsals for $110 or all 10 rehearsals for $200. And of course, all are welcome to join!
