Do you switch when you speak English?
Not just the language, but the way you carry yourself. Your tone, your humor, your body language. The version of you that shows up in English might be a little different from the one who speaks Spanish. More formal. More careful. Or maybe freer.
That's code-switching. And almost everyone in this room does it — whether they realize it or not.
This month we're making it the topic. We'll talk about what it means to move between languages and cultures, who we become when we switch, and what gets lost (or found) in the translation. And we'll practice the kind of conversation skills that matter most when you're in a group: jumping in, holding the floor, agreeing and pushing back all in English.

What to expect:

  • A short warm-up to get everyone talking
  • A mini-lesson on group conversation skills — interrupting gracefully, holding the floor, redirecting
  • Three rounds of structured group discussion on code-switching and identity
  • Free social time to close

No preparation needed. All levels welcome. Come as you are.
This is a welcoming, judgment-free space for LGBTQIA+ English learners in CDMX. All pronouns, all identities, all kinds of love. We're glad you're here!

🗣️ Free event | Drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) available at the venue

This is a free community event. If you find value in the space and would like to support future gatherings, voluntary contributions (tips) are welcome but never required.
