Hiking Castillo de Chirel

Located in Cortes de Pallás, Castillo de Chirel stands at 654m above sea level, showcasing the marks of history on its walls. The well-preserved castle follows the land’s topography with its triangular layout. It was strategically positioned to oversee and control trade via the river, featuring defensive elements such as arrow slits, parapets, and a moat. While parts of the fortification are in ruins, the walls, water tank, and main tower remain visible.
