Join us as we kick off the new season with a classic Costa Blanca challenge: the Vía Ferrata El Cid Norte. This K4-rated route offers an exciting mix of exposed rock, engaging climbing, and fantastic views across the surrounding mountains.

### What to Expect

The ferrata climbs the northern side of El Cid, following a line of steep rock with several exposed sections that make it both exciting and rewarding. The route is well known for its adventurous feel, with vertical climbing, airy positions, and the occasional strategically questionable tree placement along the way.
While not the longest ferrata in the area, the K4 difficulty keeps things interesting, requiring good movement and confidence on the cable. It’s a great early-season test of skills for those already comfortable on intermediate routes.
After completing the ferrata, we’ll head to a nearby bar or restaurant to relax, recharge, and enjoy some food and drinks together.

### Jota’s Take

El Cid Norte is a bit of a Costa Blanca classic. It’s not overly long, but it definitely keeps you engaged the whole way, with plenty of exposure and a few memorable sections along the route. And yes… there are a couple of trees in slightly questionable positions that add to the character of the climb. Overall, it’s a brilliant ferrata to kick off the season — fun, a little spicy, and with great views to go with it.

### Qué Esperar

La ferrata asciende por la cara norte de El Cid, siguiendo una línea de roca empinada con varios tramos expuestos que la hacen emocionante y muy gratificante. Es conocida por su carácter aventurero, con secciones verticales, buenas sensaciones de altura y algún que otro árbol colocado en posiciones algo… curiosas.
Aunque no es la ferrata más larga de la zona, su grado K4 mantiene el recorrido interesante, requiriendo buenos movimientos y confianza en el cable. Es una gran prueba de inicio de temporada para quienes ya se sienten cómodos en ferratas de nivel intermedio.
Después de completar la ferrata, iremos a un bar o restaurante cercano para relajarnos, recargar energías y disfrutar juntos de comida y bebida.

### La Opinión de Jota

El Cid Norte es ya todo un clásico de la Costa Blanca. No es especialmente larga, pero te mantiene concentrado durante todo el recorrido, con bastante exposición y algunos tramos memorables. Y sí… hay un par de árboles en posiciones algo dudosas que le dan carácter a la ruta. En general, es una ferrata fantástica para empezar la temporada — divertida, un poco picante y con vistas increíbles.
