The CareFirst PM is an open source combo Practice Manager, Electronic Health Record, and Patient Portal with a difference: It is both full-featured and user friendly, a rarity in the open source world.
But I’m not here to tout its features, but rather to discuss how AI could be incorporated into it and how you might be the person to do it.

About the Speaker
The speaker, Nick Sophinos is a 25 year software developer and tech leader, many of them in the healthcare world.

Various stints include Harvard Medical School, Cerner, Optum, and Pfizer.

What happens when an AI assistant confidently summarizes a medical record that accidentally combines information from two different patients?
As AI becomes more integrated into healthcare, accurate patient identity matching is no longer just a data quality concern. It's a patient safety priority.
Saiteja will explore real-world challenges in patient matching, from duplicate records and name variations to complex identity scenarios that traditional testing often misses. Using synthetic data, he'll share practical approaches to privacy-preserving record matching and safeguards that help ensure the right patient information reaches AI systems.

Meet Our Speaker
Saiteja specializes in patient identity matching and large-scale healthcare data systems. At CVS Health, he designs solutions for real-time demographic events and patient record reconciliation. He is also an IEEE Senior Member and published researcher whose work spans privacy-preserving patient matching, anomaly detection, and healthcare AI.
