Monte Picayo Hike with stunning views

Have you ever stood on Malvarrosa beach, turned your gaze northward up the coast, and wondered what it would be like in the beautiful wooded mountains far in the distance? Now you can find out.

This Sunday, 19th October we will be taking a wonderful route to the top of El Picayo to enjoy breathtaking views over the coast and surrounding countryside
We will be catching the train to Puçol from Cabanyal cercanias station. From the village we will head up a windy track to enjoy ever more beautiful vistas over the surrounding countryside and the coast, stopping for a quick snack and a rest at the summit. Then we will head back down the hill via a different route and continue back to the train station, hopefully in time to get the 15.11 train back to Valencia. Don't forget to bring a snack, water and sunscreen
Length of Hike: 12 km.
Difficulty: medium. There will be steep sections with loose stones. There is nearly 400m of elevation
Meeting: Cabanyal Station at 09.10. Don't be late!! Please have breakfast before meeting, as we will not be doing a café stop in Puçol before starting.
Bring: packed lunch, water, sunscreen, a light jacket in case it turns chilly
Wear: comfy shoes with good grip, light clothing.
It costs 5 euros to sign up for this event. Each hiker must also pay for their own transport. Puçol is in zone A, so you will be able to use your normal SUMA 10 card.

Este domingo 19 de octubre, tomaremos una maravillosa ruta hasta la cima de El Picayo para disfrutar de impresionantes vistas de la costa y el campo alrededor.
Cogeremos el tren hasta Puçol desde la estación de Cabanyal cercanias. Desde el pueblo subiremos por una pista sinuosa para disfrutar de vistas cada vez más hermosas del campo circundante y la costa, parando para tomar un tentempié rápido y descansar en la cima. Luego bajaremos la colina por una ruta diferente y continuaremos de regreso a la estación de tren, con suerte a tiempo para tomar el tren de las 15.11 de regreso a Valencia. No olvides llevar snack, agua y protector solar.
Longitud de la caminata: 12 km.
Dificultad: media. Habrá tramos empinados con piedras sueltas. Hay casi 400 m de desnivel
Encuentro: Estación del Cabanyal a las 09.10 horas. ¡¡No llegues tarde!! Por favor, desayune antes de quedar en Cabanyal porque no haremos parada de cafetería en Puçol antes de empezar.
Traer: almuerzo para llevar, agua, bloqueador solar, una chaqueta ligera en caso de que haga frío.
Vestir: calzado cómodo y con buen agarre, ropa ligera.
El precio para registrarse para este evento es de 5 euros. Cada senderista tambien tendrá que pagar su propio billete de tren. Puçol está dentre de la zona A de transportes, así que puedes usar la tarjeta SUMA 10.
