This beginner-friendly course is perfect for those new to improv and individuals with a performing background looking to refine their skills. The class introduces the essentials of improv, focusing on building confidence, trust, and creativity. You’ll learn to say “Yes, And,” actively listen, support your scene partners, and discover the “game of the scene.” With a mix of character-driven exercises and foundational techniques, this class helps you create spontaneous, comedic scenes in a supportive, inclusive environment. Small class sizes ensure personalized feedback, culminating in a fun performance to showcase your skills in front of friends and family.

About Patrick McInnis:
Through teaching and performance, Patrick McInnis has shared his love of improv with students and audiences across the US. His team The Third Thought has performed regularly in national festivals, and he has built vibrant improv communities in Boulder, Colorado ,Tampa/St. Petersburg and now here in Carlsbad. Learners from elementary schools through assisted living facilities have played and learned with Patrick.
