👉 EN: This is NOT a live event at a fixed time. It is a writing-first language exchange community where you are matched with people having the same interests. Members connect through writing first, and any in-person meetups are organized after the match by the community itself.
👉 ES: Esto NO es un evento en vivo a una hora fija. Es una comunidad de intercambio de idiomas, primero por escrito, donde te emparejamos con personas de tu mismos interéses. Los miembros primero conectan por escrito, y cualquier quedada en persona la organiza la propia comunidad.

When I looked for people to practice my writing with, I always ended up frustrated.

I met people that were not aligned with my own field or interests.
Most never replied past the first message.
The chats were full of hi, how are you, and nothing more than surface level conversations.

I was serious about getting better, and I could not find anyone as serious as me.

I did not need another chat to pass the time. I needed to actually improve my target language, and I wanted to practice it with people who do the work I do.

So I built the community I wanted, where you practice with peers in your own field.

🔥 How it works 🔥

1. Only serious learners, protected on purpose: If someone is here to flirt instead of practice, we remove them. That is not a threat, it is the whole point. We protect the people who came to learn.
2. You get in by application: This is a private WhatsApp community, and you are accepted only through a short form, where you write a few lines in the language you are learning. And the filter is not just the form. The community keeps itself clean too, because members flag anyone who is clearly not here to learn.
3. Matched by your profile: You are not dropped into a random room. You tell us what you do, and we group you with people in the same field and at your level, so you practice on the kind of writing you actually do, with peers who face the same thing, not random small talk.
4. Real topics to write about: Inside your group you write on real topics with relevant people. You can propose your own, and the ones people vote for become discussion threads, so there is always something worth writing about.
5. Writing first, so it fits your life: Everything happens in writing. No fixed time, no loud bar, no timezone problem. You practice on the kind of messages you would really send, and if there is a match, you can of course meet in person for a live exchange (organized by you).
6. Optional, download our app: Part of getting better is simply writing more, and for that we created our own app that helps you write it correctly. You are welcome to download it, and we introduce it once you get accepted.

This is not a chat to kill time. It is for people who are serious about writing well in Spanish or English and are tired of apps full of people who are not.

Cuando buscaba con quién practicar la escritura, siempre acababa frustrado.
La mitad estaba ahí para ligar o socializar, no para aprender.
La mayoría no respondía después del primer mensaje.
Los chats estaban llenos de holas y qué tal, y nada más allá de conversaciones superficiales.
Yo iba en serio con mejorar, y no encontraba a nadie tan serio como yo.
No necesitaba otro chat para pasar el rato. Necesitaba de verdad mejorar mi idioma objetivo, y quería practicarlo con gente que hace el mismo trabajo que yo.
Así que creé la comunidad que a mí me habría gustado encontrar, donde practicas con colegas de tu mismo sector.

🔥 Cómo funciona 🔥

1. Solo gente que va en serio, protegida a propósito: si alguien está aquí para ligar en lugar de practicar, lo sacamos. No es una amenaza, es justo el sentido de todo esto. Protegemos a quienes vienen a aprender.
2. Se entra por solicitud: es una comunidad privada de WhatsApp, y solo se admite a través de un formulario corto, donde escribes unas líneas en el idioma que estás aprendiendo. Y el filtro no es solo el formulario. La comunidad también se mantiene limpia sola, porque los propios miembros avisan si alguien claramente no está aquí para aprender.
3. Emparejamiento por tu perfil: no te soltamos en una sala al azar. Nos dices a qué te dedicas, y te agrupamos con personas de tu mismo sector y de tu nivel, así practicas con el tipo de escritura que de verdad haces, con colegas que viven lo mismo, no charla superficial.
4. Temas reales sobre los que escribir: dentro de tu grupo escribes sobre temas reales. Puedes proponer los tuyos, y los más votados se convierten en hilos de conversación, así siempre hay algo que valga la pena escribir.
5. Primero la escritura, para que encaje en tu vida: todo ocurre por escrito. Sin hora fija, sin bar ruidoso, sin problemas de zona horaria. Practicas con el tipo de mensajes que de verdad enviarías, y si hay conexión, por supuesto puedes quedar con esa persona para un intercambio en persona.
6. Opcional, descarga nuestra app: parte de mejorar es simplemente escribir más, y para eso creamos nuestra propia app que te ayuda a escribir correctamente. Puedes descargarla si quieres, y te la presentamos una vez que te aceptan.

Esto no es un chat para matar el tiempo. Es para gente que va en serio con escribir bien en español o inglés y está cansada de apps llenas de gente que no.
Si estás aquí para aprender, encajarás perfectamente. Si no, esto probablemente no es para ti.
