Agile is no longer a set of software development methods used by a
bunch of innovators. Nowadays Agile is arguably a popular and
successful product development strategy. This success and the broad
adoption of Agile in the software industry is not a coincidence but a
required fist step for a much bigger change in the world of business.
The current historical context has been for years indicating the need
of a paradigm shift in management science and product development. The
new social order and the new customer needs requires 21st century
business to become continuous innovation engines.
Emerging lines of thought such as: Customer centricity, Management
3.0, complexity science, design thinking, team coaching and social
dynamics among others, are being explored by Agile practitioners and
being merged into the agile parading. Those are the new bricks to
build the next normal science of management and product development.
In this talk I’ll share my thoughts about: why this is happening in
this moment of history, why Agile emerges in the software industry,
how is agile connected to the 21st century customer, how Agile
addresses the need of continuous innovation and what’s my vision about
the future of Agile. For that I’ll collect and put together concepts
coming from the previously mentioned lines of thought and several
ideas coming from well known 21st century thought leaders.
