How to process and serve geospatial datasets with 20B+ rows

Hello Data Engies!

We are ready to finish the year with a very interesting talk from our friends at CARTO, that (as usual) have plenty of interesting things to talk about regarding maps and data at high volumes.

Do not forget to follow us at @MadridDataEng for updates on this event and info on future events.

*** How to process and serve geospatial datasets with 20B+ rows ***

In this talk we will walk you through some of the data needs we have in CARTO, that force us to move datasets of billions of raws and dozens of TBs.

We will explain how we came up with the right solutions, including extensive use of Google Cloud and Python.

*** About Alberto - @alasarr ***
Alberto is the current CTO at CARTO, that moved from Seville to Madrid when his previous company Geographica (where he was also CTO and partner) was acquired.

Proud investor of startups from Habichuelas SL, Alberto is a skilful father of 2 and kite surfer (we don't know in which one he's more skilled though).

*** The talk will take place at the CARTO offices ***
~45 mins presentation in English + questions followed by pizza&beer networking.
