Title of Talk:
Kafka 101: Beyond the Brokers

Abstract:
In this 101 session, we'll review the technical foundation of Kafka and why it's so different from what you're used to. You'll be walked through the continuous commit log principle, the resiliency model of Kafka, how to set the delivery guarantees that fits your use case and the consumer group protocol and how to scale out the systems.
And lastly, below is a proposed agenda. If you have any additional speaker who might also be interested to present on a Kafka topic (can be a use-case/demo style presentation of a client/partner), we can of course adjust the agenda to accommodate that speaker too.

Bio:
Rubén is a Sr. Director, Solutions Engineering at Confluent. On his current position, he helps customers across EMEA to get the maximum value from their event driven applications.

Before that, Rubén was a Solutions Architect at MongoDB, so he carries a large experience with data-related challenges, high-scale volumes and distributed systems.
