New Mills is a small town on the edge of the Peak District.
Reachable by train from Piccadilly, it's good for walks.

There's mills, river, ruins, viaducts, lakes and woods:
- 12:30 - I'll start at Piccadilly Station (optional).
- 12:45 - Train to New Mills (30 mins, optional).

- 13:15 - Walk 0.5 km along the River Goyt to the Torr Mills Park.
- 13:30 - Walk 3 km along the Sett Valley Trail to Emma's Cafe.

- 14:30 - Pause to refuel / use the facilities as needed.

- 15:00 - Walk 1 km past the River Sett Reservoir to Bluebell Wood.
- 15:30 - Turn around and walk the 4.5 km back to the Torr Vale Tap.

- 16:30 - Either explore the Mill and get a drink or go for the train home.

It's all gravel or tarmac. Sensible footwear and an umbrella advised.
That cafe offers about 20 different types of hot chocolate 🤣
